OMAX Engineering Works was established by Mr. Ramesh Kapoor in 1980 at the age of twenty. He himself was an engineer with BHEL which attracted him to work in this field. He went on a business tour to Libya on behalf of BHEL at the age of eighteen. The real inspiration of this venture, he received from his father who was a sincere and visionary entrepreneur. But his poor health did not allow to realize his dreams. However the heritage of his technical skills and hard work imbibed by the son resulted in making OMAX a very fast popularity of the brand. Later his younger brother Mr. Naresh Kapoor joined the business in 1986.
